What is the Farmax Service?

The Farmax Service involves both the Farmer and the consultant subscribing to Farmax Dairy Pro. This enables the farmer to update monthly production, stock and land information and make this available to the consultant. This is done at the end of each month by the farmer who then sends it back to a centralised website which makes it available to the consultant and any other party they wish to keep up to date with farm performance. This conveniently keeps data synchronized, accessible to all parties and secure from computer malfunction. The website contains a secure personalised web page that shows who has most recently updated information within the program.

For the Farmax Service, a registered Farmax consultant uses Farmax Dairy Pro to setup an accurate model of the farm. Depending on the farmers level of computer skills they can use either Farmax Dairy Pro or FarmTools Dairy to input the monthly monitoring data. Farmtools is a simplified version of Farmax Dairy Pro designed as a simple easy to use program to input monitoring data.

The Farmax Service will provide value to your business through:

Recording and monitoring information such as pasture cover, cow numbers and condition, supplementary feeding, and production. This information is stored in a file and can be viewed years later.
Looking at the value of ‘tactical’ changes i.e. how you can maximize returns this season. Some examples include:
- Timing of conserving surplus feed
- Value of forage crops and supplementary feeding
- Drying off decisions such as drafting light cows to a once a day mob, extending milking etc
- Effect of once a day milking on condition score
- Value of better condition cows at start of calving
